Get qualified so you can respond in emergencies – as well as to bumps, cuts and bruises!
We encourage all of our volunteers to complete first aid training to ensure that Girlguiding members are kept as safe as possible when they are in our care.
After attending this one-day course, you will have:
- Learnt simple life-saving first aid skills that are relevant to your role
- Developed the confidence and skills required to cope with emergency and first aid situations
- Understood how to manage these emergencies.
We also cover what you need to do to follow Girlguiding’s processes and policies.
Who is this course for?
Everyone in a volunteer role with us is encouraged to complete 1st Response training.
It is especially useful for Commissioners, Leaders, Young Leaders, Unit Helpers and Unit Occasional Helpers. Rangers can also choose to do the course as part of their personal development.
The following members are required to attend the training:
- Those completing the Leadership Qualification without a valid equivalent first aid qualification
