Get Away from Home Scheme

Introducing the Girlguiding North West England new Residential Get Away Badge to encourage all Leaders to take their units away.  It is also open to all adults in Guiding.

Get Away from Home BadgeCelebrate going away with Guiding and earn yourself and the girls badges to commemorate the amount of nights away.

A pin badge is available for 1, 5, 10, 15 and 25 nights, and a cloth badge is available for these nights as well as for 50, 75, 100, 150 and 200 nights, for display on camp blankets.

To take part, complete the Get Away from Home Record Card (outside cover & inside cover) every time you go away for one night or more on a recognised Guiding event. This could be a sleepover, camp, holiday, international trip etc. You can backdate your record from 1st January 2008.  Aim to get your 100 badge in the Centenary year!

Once you have reached the requisite number of Nights you can apply for the badge.

What do I need to take part?
