RainbowsWho are Rainbows? In England, a girl may become a Rainbow any time after her seventh birthday, and usually moves up to Brownies after her seventh birthday. What do Rainbows do? Joining a local group means that fun is guaranteed - Rainbows explore and discover their world, play games, take part in creative activities, listen to stories and sing songs. Whether indoors or out and about on trips, the girls share adventures with new friends and also discover just how good it feels to be kind and helpful to others. When do Rainbows meet? The day and length of meeting varies depending on where you live. Contact us for details of your nearest meeting. Rainbows meet together in groups called units. Each unit has up to 18 girls and they meet once a week, often in the same place as the local Brownies or Guides. Most of the meetings take place during term time and last about an hour. What do Rainbows wear? Rainbows can choose from the range of clothing specially designed for Rainbows - see www.girlguidingukshop.co.uk for details of clothing, great Rainbow gifts and how to buy. More information about Rainbows: Girls can visit the Rainbows website which is just for them and full of stories, games and activities. Parents and carers - visit the information for parents pages on the Girlguiding UK website.
