The Senior Section

Who are The Senior Section?

The Senior Section comprises of girls and young women aged 14 to 25 who are Rangers, Young Leaders or Adult Leaders.  The Senior Section offers something for everyone.  There is a wide range of leading award schemes and opportunities designed to help members get the most out of life.

What do The Senior Section do?

More like what don't they do! The Senior Section offers today's young women opportunities to develop life skills, and make new friends during what can often be a time of big life changes (exams, university, first step onto the career ladder). Some options include:

  • Take part in the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme,

  • Take part and lead residential events in the UK and around the world!

  • Follow the Leadership Scheme - working with Rainbows, Brownies or Guides,

  • Go to Innovate (Girlguiding UK's forum for young women),

  • Have a voice at the British Youth Council, and Regional Youth Forums,

  • Take part in "Look Wider" the programme for the Senior Section with challenges/activities etc.

  • Work towards the highest award in guiding - Queen's Guide, and

  • Participate in '4' a peer education initiative.

When do The Senior Section meet?

The day and length of meeting varies depending on where you live. Contact us for details of your nearest meeting.

Meetings tend to be flexible for this age group to accommodate members' studying or work commitments.

What do the Senior Section  wear?

Senior Section members can choose from the range of clothing specially designed for the Senior Section or, if they are 18+ and a leader, the Adult Leader uniform - see www.girlguidingukshop.co.uk for details of clothing and Senior Section gifts and how to buy.
