Information for Leaders
Learning and Development
Part of Girlguiding UK's vision
is to ensure that we have trained Leaders who can deliver the
programme to our girls and young women. Here in Cumbria South, there are
many opportunities for adult Leaders to try new skills, brush up on
their knowledge of the section they work with, get new ideas and of
course get to know other Leaders within the county!
Trainings are open to Senior Section members, Adult Leaders, Commissioners Advisers and Unit
Helpers.
To find out more about trainings taking place and download application forms, please look at the calendar.
Information about the Leadership Qualification
If you are working through your Leadership
qualification, or are a Mentor, please make a note of the trainings which you think will be useful
to you. All Leaders need to gain a Full 1st Response (or hold an equivalent First Aid Certificate), attend a Safe From Harm, Accounts and Section Training (or a "Glad you could
join us evening").
To keep your skills and knowledge up to date, it
is good practice that Leaders renew their First Response every 3
years.
Updates relating to planned trainings and confirmation
of venues, can be found in the Curlew Calendar which is in the
quarterly Newsletter.
Remember the Guiding Development and Adult
Support team and the County Advisers are all here to offer you help and support and will be pleased to
help sort out a problem or answer a query you have.
You can contact your Division rep for Guiding
Development queries or contact the Advisers directly for queries relating to residential licences or help with
the programme for the section you work with, their details are in
the County Directory.
If you have any training needs or any
suggestions for future trainings please do not hesitate to contact
either J Myers or K Coid at guidingdev@girlguidingcumbriasouth.org.uk
