Grants available to members
The following grants are available to members in Cumbria South to help our members take part in Girlguiding activities.

International Bursaries
GOLD
15% – max £300
Region trips
Adults at discretion of Exec.
Girls 10% – Max £200
County Trips
Adults 20% Max £400
Girls 10 % Max £200
Mileage Allowance
Mileage Allowance 40p per mile. To make a claim, please complete and return the Expenses Claim Form (DOC/1 page/139KB)
Uniform Grants
Initial grant for one claim to a maximum of £35 with an extra £15 after 5 years. The Uniform Grant is for Leaders and Leaders in training. Commissioners would be entitled to claim another grant on their appointment. Grants must be spent on Uniform not Members wear etc. Grants are not available for Unit helpers or Senior Section, these could be purchased by the unit.
Baden Powell Adventure
County will award a grant of 50% of the cost of the challenge weekend up to a maximum of £50. Girls need to write an application letter to the treasurer outlining what they gained from doing their award and what they enjoyed about their challenge weekend.
Arts Award
Grants are available from county towards the cost of moderation for all levels of the Arts Award. Please contact our Arts and Media adviser for more information artsandmedia@girlguidingcumbriasouth.org.uk.
