Ever thought of volunteering for Girlguiding Cumbria South? Wherever you are in southern Cumbria we’d love to hear from you!
We have opportunities available for volunteers who can help regularly with units, or adults who could support us on an ad hoc basis – perhaps you could offer to teach girls a skill, be a treasurer or an adviser?

What guiding offers our young members:
We are for all girls – whatever their background and circumstances,
We give girls their own space,
We give girls a voice,
We change as the lives of girls change – we listen to our members and constantly evolve and adapt what we offer them without losing what makes us uniquely us.
There are four sections for young members – Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and the Senior Section.

Guiding in Cumbria South couldn’t happen without our fantastic adult volunteers.
Whatever your skills and interests or time you can spare, we have a wide range of volunteer roles and opportunities available.
These include Leaders and Unit helpers who work with the girls directly, plus a whole range of roles that support our adult Leaders such as Advisers, Commissioners, Treasurers, and occasional helpers.
Some volunteer roles are suitable for males, and women who on reaching 65 years old are looking for a new challenge in Guiding.
There are seven Guilds in the County of South Cumbria, Duddon, Ulverston, Hawkshead, Windermere, Grange over Sands,Kent Lune (Kirkby Lonsdale area)and Kendal.
We welcome anybody over 18 who is willing to make the Guide promise.
What do The Trefoil Guild do?
If at any time we can be of help to guiding in the county we are willing to help in any way we can.
Sometimes we have speakers and slide presentations to illustrate their chosen subject and sometimes we enjoy trips out. Above all we have fun and enjoy the social benefits of being in a friendly group.
