DESCRIPTION:Everyone in a volunteer role with us is encouraged to complete 1st Response training. It’s especially useful for commissioners\, leaders\, young leaders\, unit helpers and unit occasional helpers. Rangers can do the course as part of their personal development. \nThis training will be on Saturday 11th November at High Newton Village Hall 9:30am – 4:30pm \nClick Here to go to Eventbrite to Book Your Space \nDon’t forget\, one person at every unit meeting must have a valid first aid qualification\, so why not get your your leadership team to come along too so that you can still run the meeting if the 1 person who previously had the qualification can’t make it! \nWhat will I learn? \n\nGain simple life-saving first aid skills that are relevant to your role.\nDevelop the confidence and skills required to cope with emergency and first aid situations.\nUnderstand how to manage these emergencies.\n\nTo fully complete the 1st Response training\, you need to: \n\nAttend this 6hr training session\nComplete the e-learning\n\nBoth parts of the training must be completed to be considered a Girlguiding first aider. \n

A chance to get away from the family and relax with all the\ncooking and washing up done for you. The bar will also be open each evening! \nDownload the Booking Form Here: County Weekend 2022 Booking Form Cumbria South (1) \nWaddow is an old Manor House set in 178 acres\, built on the banks of the River Ribble and is owned by Girlguiding. \nIf you have never been before\, you need to come and soak up the very special atmosphere\, wonderful food\, fabulous surroundings and of course\, great company. \nWhat you’ll get: \n\nNew ideas to reinvigorate your unit meetings and help on running hybrid virtual/face-to face meetings\, lead by the team of trainers\nThe chance to meet other leaders and the county team\, share experiences\, get support and advice\, be inspired and rediscover your love of guiding\nAll meals provided from Friday evening until Sunday lunchtime\nAccommodation in the main hall in shared rooms (numbers per room will depend on Covid guidance at time of event)\nSaturday afternoon drop in opportunities/free time to explore the Hall and grounds.\n\nCost:\nWaddow charges £99 per person for a training weekend. However\, we firmly believe in supporting our volunteers\, so County is subsidising the cost as follows:\n£40 For people who are attending a training at Waddow for the FIRST TIME and actively volunteer with a unit (e.g. leader\, assistant leader\, young leader aged 16+ or regular unit\nhelper).
