Girlguiding Cumbria South
Here, at Girlguiding Cumbria South, we give girls of all ages a voice. We offer weekly unit meetings full of fun and challenge to girls aged between 4 -18 across the whole of south Cumbria. We are a volunteer team of leaders, commissioners, unit helpers and advisors who create amazing opportunities for girls and young women to learn and grow.
Our volunteer team is amazing! They deliver unique experiences to girls and young women through unit meetings, trips, sleepovers, pack holidays, internationals, adventure days, and more recently virtually! Training and development go hand in hand with our amazing volunteers as they not only learn new skills to enable activities for our young members but also develop skills for themselves.
As a volunteer team we offer fun, laughter (lots of), support, advice and lots of tea and biscuits!!
We help girls reach their potential.
How we are organised
Girlguiding is the leading charity for girls and young women in the UK. It is organised between regions, counties, divisions and districts.
Girlguiding Cumbria South is part of Girlguiding North West England and is organised into six divisions across the south of Cumbria.
Some of these divisions are then divided into districts to help deliver exceptional experiences for girls and young women in our area.
Our Divisions
Barrow Division
Barrow Division covers the bustling Victorian Town of Barrow in Furness and its surrounding areas.
Covering Barrow in Furness, Walney Island, and the 60Km of stunning coastline.
Duddon Division
Duddon Division encompasses a beautiful area from Dalton in Furness to Millom & Haverigg.
Covering; Dalton, Askam, Ireleth, Kirkby, Broughton, Millom and Haverigg.
Kendal Division
Kendal Division is a bright & fun division located in and around the town of Kendal.
A busy town with lots of local units getting out and about in Kendal for fun and adventerous activities.
Kent Lune
Division
Kent Lune Division covers a large area full of small towns, villages, and lovely countryside.
Covering Crosscrake, Arnside, Milnthorpe, Levens, Witherslack, Holme and Kirkby Lonsdale.
Lakes Division
Lakes Division is a fun & thriving area that covers some of the Lake District’s most beautiful places.
Covering Hawkshead & Coniston, The Langdales & Ambleside, Staveley and Windermere.
North Lonsdale
Division
North Lonsdale is based from Ulverston to Grange over Sands featuring both coastline and countryside.
This division covers towns and villages such as Ulverston, Urswick, Lindal, Grange over Sands and Flookburgh.
